Citrix desktop lock is a great way of turning any pc into a thin client with no access to the explorer shell for any non-administrator. The basic idea is that desktop lock utilises Citrix Receiver in order to launch a published desktop with pass through authentication configured within the client.

Its a great way of turning an older pc into a thin client to extend its life and coupled with Microsoft ThinPC (or Windows embedded) will allow an end of life corporate desktop to provide years more service than it might have otherwise.

I’ve created a video on the configuration of Desktop lock and a short demo of how it functions. Please feel free to watch the video and give it a try yourself.
