Citrix storefront is a great advancement over the old web interface one of the advances is that if only one desktop is published to a user it will auto start when the user logs into storefront.
This whilst mostly helpful does sometimes need to be disabled. You can disable the auto launching of desktops by editing the web.config file within the published stores iis folder.
Firstly navigate to the storefront iis folder (which is usually c:\inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\scrivweb for example). Then open the web.config file in the folder and search the file for Userinterface — Autolaunchdesktop=”true” then change it sensibly to “false” and your done.
