Anyone testing or looking into Windows 8 tablets/pc’s etc, may want to firstly check their Citrix environment. The Citrix Receiver preview that is available within the Windows 8 AppStore is only compatible with Cloudgateway installations and AGEE (AKA storefront and Access Gateway). Anyone still using Web Interface 5.4 (with or without Secure Gateway) or earlier is unfortunately out of luck.
In order to use a Web Interface deployed Citrix environment on Windows 8 you will need to download and install the previous receiver client for windows 7 from receiver.citrix.com (currently in 3.3 iteration). Also during the install Windows 8 will install the .Net Framework feature.
